 Best New Product Awards (BNPA) for the USA are back and better than ever in their 8th year! They identify uniquely innovative products that stand as the best of the best in the highly competitive CPG market.

As the BNPA’s senior program director, I get to work alongside the incredibly talented marketers behind these new products. I also get to peek at which products are gaining traction during the nomination process.

And now, so do you! I’ll be sharing some of the entries from among the BNPA nominees, focusing on products with interesting innovations. We thought it would be fun to see what Shopper Army members had to say by asking them for their honest opinions, both pro and con. And in two days, we received more than 200 takes on the five new products I selected for the first Kim’s Corner.

I also will share some of their responses.  In the end, the winners will be decided in our large annual survey of shoppers who actually have tried the products.

I will also share a “Shopper’s Army Pick” with you in Kim’s Corner – a product that the members of Shopper Army have elevated from the rest and for which they have demanded attention!

What is it?: A Greek yogurt that includes fruits, whole grain oats, flax seeds and pumpkin seeds mixed right in, and with all colors, flavors and sweeteners from natural sources. Plenti is a healthy, high-protein snack to help keep you satisfied. Available in 8 flavors: blueberry, strawberry, black cherry, coconut, peach, raspberry, spiced apple and vanilla.

Why I love it: People are looking for convenience, and now they can get it with the perfectly packaged snack. It is a snack we won’t feel bad eating!

What Shopper Army thinks about it:

“I love that this takes a healthy snack that’s chockful of protein and calcium and makes it even better by adding flax seed, pumpkin seeds, oats, and fruit.  It looks like great taste has met great nutrition!”

 

Bounty with Dawn

Bounty with Dawn

 

What is it?: Bounty with Dawn is a multi-purpose cleaning towel that combines the long lasting power of Dawn with a new, ultra-durable Bounty. Why I love it: How cool is this!? And why did it take so long to invent! Now you don’t need 2 products to get the job done.

What Shopper Army thinks about it:

 “What a truly original idea. I would love to keep a roll of these in the kitchen another in the bathroom and another in the basement. I   really like the idea of grabbing a towel and wetting it to clean.”

 

 

 

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Sheer Hydration Lotion

Why I love it: This product is simply amazing! So many lotions out there are sticky and greasy feeling. This one is so light! I have a bottle of it on my desk and my hands feel like silk…need I say more?

What Shopper Army thinks about it:

 “I love that a really good hydrating hand lotion can also be non-greasy and absorbed quickly.  It would be nice to put on hand lotion and not have to wait forever before touching anything, for fear of leaving a sticky mess on it.”

 

 

 

 

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant

What is it? Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant provides all the care of Dove for soft, smoother underarms. It goes on instantly dry for a cleaner feel while offering the brand’s signature 1/4 moisturizing technology. The collection provides 48 hours of odor and wetness protection and is available in a variety of fragrances.

Why I love it: When they say dry, they mean dry. This super convenient – just spray and go – antiperspirant also smells great which is an added bonus.

What Shopper Army thinks about it:

 “I’m a big fan of Dove products, and I’d love to give this one a try–especially if it can deliver protection against wetness and odor as well as no white marks on my clothes!”

 

 

 

 

 

Aquafina Sparkling

What is it?: A lightly carbonated sparkling water infused with fruit flavor combinations and sweetened with only 2 grams (just a hint!) of real, Fair Trade sugar to soften the bite that often comes with traditional seltzers. In five refreshing flavor combinations, black cherry dragon fruit, lemon lime, orange grapefruit, white peach apricot and mango pineapple.

Why I love it: A great way to get your water intake in – only now in style. The flavors available are also delicious and innovative.

What Shopper Army thinks about it:

 “I would love to try this.  I gave up soda years ago, bus sometimes still want something more than just plain water.  I love that is is lightly sweetened with just sugar, no artificial sweeteners of HFC.”
